Molecular techniques in the diagnosis of human infectious diseases.

چکیده
The availability of clones of nucleic acid (NA) specific for genes of most viral and other microbiological organisms has made possible various approaches to search for such sequences in clinical materials using hybridisation techniques. Radioactive or otherwise labelled NA clones or sequencespecific synthetic oligonucleotides (ONs) act as molecular probes in the search for complementary NA target sequences in the clinical specimens. These procedures have complemented the more traditional diagnostic techniques such as growth in tissue cul-

Almost 10 centuries ago, clinical symptoms of allergy were reported for the first time by the great Iranian sage and scientist, Zakariya Razi. However, his report was neglected because fatal infectious diseases were taken more seriously into account. About 1000 years after this report, infectious diseases were less dramatically propagated due to the improvement of hygienic conditions. Nowadays,...
متن کاملتشخیص عفونتهای باکتریایی؛ روش های سنتی و مولکولی: یک مرور سنتی
Background and Objectives: Traditionally, diagnosis of the agents of infectious diseases is based on conventional or phenotypic methods. Due to the lack of growth of some infectious agents, these methods are very difficult or impossible for diagnosis of some bacteria. The advent of molecular techniques has more or less influences on the detection of microbial infections. This article addresses ...
متن کاملNASBA Isothermal Technique: a Novel Tool for Mycobacterium tuberculosis Diagnosis
Background and Objectives: rapid, accurate and cost effective diagnosis of infectious and non infectious diseases is an essential step for treatment process. Nowadays, in Line with scientific progression in molecular biology, genetics and biochemistry which are based on biotechnology and genetic engineering aspects, new branch of medicine entitled molecular medicine is being derived. It can be ...
متن کاملLimit of Detection of HEV RNA for Diagnosis of HEV Infection
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives: Diagnosis of hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection could be missed in some cases if serological tests are used solely. Molecular characterization of HEV is essential for diagnosis of acute and chronic HEV infections, and evaluating the chronic HEV infection status in immunocompromised patients. T...
